SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the Dining Services Manager, this position assists with the operations of the Eagle’s Nest Café and campus catering. 
           
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Assists with the operations of the Eagle’s Nest Café and campus catering in accordance with FVCC mission and goals with duties including, but not limited to, menu planning, submitting order guides, restocking, food preparation, organization, and dishwashing.
  • Assists with inventory control of food and non-food items used in the cafeteria/catering operations.
  • Maintains the café/catering operations and facilities in accordance with the highest compliance with all applicable local, state and federal health codes.
  • Utilizes the kitchen facilities and equipment in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Provides quality customer and food service for the café and catering events
  • Works collaboratively and actively participates in a climate that promotes and supports innovation and improved services
  • Serves as an ambassador for the College, fosters cooperative relationships to enhance and promote the College.
  • Reports to the Dining Services Manager
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in food preparation and/or hospitality
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Food, beverage, and hospitality work experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to use a student-centered approach in the work environment.
  • Customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to serve as a representative for the Eagles’ Nest and the College  by interacting appropriately with the community
  • Ability to work within policies and procedures of FVCC
  • Ability to occasionally work non-traditional schedules including evenings, weekends, etc.
  • Ability to maintain effective and positive professional relationships
  • Ability to follow and issue directions 
  • Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to maintain regular and acceptable attendance levels
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to respond in the event of an emergency
  • This is a Heavy Duty job, according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles, U.S. Department of Labor and Industry.    Heavy Duty involves exertion of up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25-50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds continuously to move objects.
